Accessing the Guide Chrome extension inside of GoodTime and adding Guide variables to your templates

Updated over a year ago

We've updated our Guide Chrome extension to allow you to open it from inside of a GoodTime confirmation or availability request page, just like you would with Greenhouse:

This gives you quick access to start or preview the candidate's Guide without needing to go back to Greenhouse.

We've also added the ability to create a custom Guide variable in your confirmation message that you can automatically fill with your candidate's Guide link. To add the Guide URL variable:

1. In your template (this can be added to the candidate email, the candidate calendar event description, and/or the interviewer event description), insert the following text:

<$Guide.Url: [your text here]>

Note: It's important to include a space between <$Guide.Url and the text you'd like to include. So <$Guide.Url: your guide> would work, but <$Guide.Url:your guide> would not work.

2. Select your variable and click the link icon:

Here, you'll add in a URL of your choice and click OK. We're going to use example.com, but we recommend that you use your company's homepage as a fallback:

3. Once you've added the link, you can open the Chrome extension and click the Fill button next to the candidate's guide link. This will automatically update the variable with the real link:

And that's it!
