Message templates

How to use Guide Message Templates to relay important information, a congratulations, or even obtain candidate availability!

Updated over a week ago

You can quickly create message templates to cover a wide area of common candidate communication, from availability to onsite interview prep. Here is how we recommend you get started!

Getting Started

Head to Templates > Messages to get started building your first few templates.

We recommend covering your primary candidate based communication needs first, such as Availability, Interview Confirmation, Interview re-scheduled and any stage specific needs you might have that are not covered by your company wide content.

More than just emails

Messages are not just text based emails like you may be use to in Greenhouse, they can be rich detailed Guides in themselves, welcoming a candidate to a technical interview stage, sales role scenario, compensation summary, etc. They can contain links, videos, rich text, link cards and more.

Consider Messages as the job or department specific Guide Content Layer, working in tandem with your existing company profile content.

Make them shine!

Guide Message Templates offer both smart text Tokens (enter "$" in the text field to reveal) + rich text content modules like images, links and more.

Use "/" in any of our text fields to bring up the content module editor. You can add images, link cards, format text, videos and more.

Ready to deliver? Cool just hit "update candidate" anywhere in their Greenhouse profile page or our extension

You can quickly message a candidate just by going to their profile in Greenhouse and hitting the Guide based "Update Candidate" button found in their profile page.

You will need our Chrome Extension to do so, available here.

You can also rely on the extension itself if you prefer, simply click on our logo to open it and deliver your update
