When you move a candidate to a new requisition in Greenhouse, Guide automatically syncs the candidate to the new job. Their Guide portal, interview plan, and role details update to reflect the new req. What happens to their interviews depends on the situation:
1. No interviews have been scheduled yet
Nothing extra to do. Once the candidate syncs (automatically, or you can resync), the candidate's Guide follows them to the new req and picks up the new job's interview plan. You can schedule as normal.
2. Interviews already took place (they're in the past and completed)
Completed interviews stay attached to the original req as historical record - this is expected and usually fine to leave as-is. If a past interview needs to appear under the new req, use Link Interview on it to map it to the matching interview on the new req.
3. Upcoming interviews that are scheduled but not yet conducted
Already-scheduled interviews stay tied to the old req and will not sync to the new req on their own.
To fix this:
On each scheduled interview, use "Resolve Greenhouse Sync" button on the interview itself to link it to the matching interview on the new req's interview plan
This keeps the existing times, interviewers, and calendar invites intact. Note: if the candidate is still active on both the old and new req at the same time, Link Interview won't work - the candidate must be removed/transferred off the old req first so they're only on the new one.
4. No scheduled or upcoming interviews, but an open scheduling task on the old req
The open task's interview requirements are automatically re-mapped to the new job's interview plan when the candidate is transferred and synced. There are no scheduled calendar events to relink, so the task simply continues against the new req. Best practice: resync the candidate and confirm the task's interviews reflect the new req's interview plan before scheduling.
