Candidate Portal Templates

Candidate portals are one of the most important parts of the Guide experience—they give candidates everything they need to show up informed, prepared, and excited. Each portal is built from a reusable template that you can fully customize.

🧱 What Are Portal Templates?

Templates define the structure, content, and branding of the candidate portal. A template can include:

  • Company introduction and mission

  • Interview overview (roles, topics, formats)

  • Team bios (auto-populated)

  • Logistics and FAQs

  • Embedded media (images, videos, slides)

You can set one default template that applies to all candidates or create department-specific templates for tailored experiences.

🎨 Customizing Your Templates

Admins and Content Managers can edit portal templates by visiting:

⚙️ Settings > Candidate Portal > Templates

There, you can:

  • Edit the default template

  • Create new templates by duplicating an existing one

  • Customize layout blocks (cards, images, sections, links)

  • Use tokens (like {{first_name}}) to personalize content

Changes to a template apply to all new links that use that version. Existing candidate portals will remain unchanged unless manually updated.

🧠 Best Practices

  • Keep content short and skimmable – Candidates don’t need walls of text.

  • Avoid over-segmenting – Start with one or two templates before scaling up.

  • Preview often – Use the preview link to check how each section renders.

  • Coordinate with your employer brand team – Consider tone, voice, and visuals.
