Clearing Candidate Availability Before Sending a New Availability Request

How to clear or edit a candidate’s existing availability when creating a new scheduling request

Updated over 2 weeks ago

🆕 What’s New?

When creating scheduling requests, Guide now gives you more control over previously submitted candidate availability.

You can now:

  • View existing candidate availability

  • Edit it with new time suggestions (before submitting)

  • Clear it entirely before sending a new request

This ensures your scheduling statuses are accurate and you have up-to-date availability, avoiding conflicts from stale or outdated availability.

🛠️ How It Works

1. Open a candidate scheduling task

Navigate to a scheduling task in Guide for any candidate who has previously submitted availability.

2. View existing availability

You’ll see their submitted time slots and a note indicating how long ago it was updated.

⚠️ If the availability is more than 48 hours old, a warning banner will appear to let you know it’s likely outdated.

3. Edit or clear availability

Click the “Edit” button to make changes or the “Clear” button to remove availability entirely.

  • Edit: Add new proposed times. These changes won’t apply until the request is submitted.

  • Clear: Wipes all previously submitted availability so you can send a fresh request.

4. Submit your request

Once you’re ready, complete the request or scheduling workflow. Your edits (or cleared state) will be applied only after submission.

🔄 What Happens After You Clear Availability?

Once cleared:

  • A new availability request task will be created

  • Candidates will be prompted to submit fresh time slots

  • Guide’s scheduling automation will use the newly submitted data when it arrives
