Will the “Interview with BrightHire” button show up on calendar invites?
Yes, as long as BrightHire detects the calendar event as an interview and the interviewer has the BrightHire browser extension installed.
BrightHire detects interviews by scanning the calendar event title, location, and body for signals like:
A link to Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, SmartRecruiters, or Workable
Any link containing
brighthire.aiThe hashtag
#brighthireWords like “Interview,” “Phone,” or “Screen”
Guide creates the calendar event, but BrightHire controls whether the event is recognized and whether the button appears. Many ATS-linked interviews already include one of these signals, so BrightHire should usually pick them up automatically.
What about phone screen interviews?
BrightHire joins phone calls through its own dialer, not through a video meeting link. Interviewers can launch BrightHire from:
The calendar invite, using the “Interview with BrightHire” button
The ATS, using the “Call with BrightHire” button
The BrightHire home page
For calendar invites, BrightHire uses the candidate phone number from the event location field. Make sure the candidate’s phone number is present there, or in the ATS field BrightHire is configured to read.
The button isn’t showing up. What should I check?
In most cases, this is controlled by BrightHire detection settings or extension setup. Start with these checks:
Confirm the interviewer has the BrightHire browser extension installed.
Confirm the invite includes a BrightHire detection trigger in the title, location, or body.
If the event still is not detected, add keywords in BrightHire’s calendar sync settings.
In BrightHire, go to Admin Settings > Calendar > My Calendars and add terms that commonly appear in your interview event titles, such as “Interview,” “Phone Screen,” or your ATS name.
Once those keywords are added, BrightHire should detect future calendar events that contain those terms.
