Pausing and Unpausing Interviewers

Learn how to manage interviewer availability, including how to pause interviewers during time off and reinstate them when they return

Updated yesterday

If an interviewer is going on vacation, leave, or will be unavailable for a period of time, you can temporarily remove them from scheduling in two ways:

🔹 Option 1: Set Their Daily Capacity to Zero

This is the cleanest way to pause someone:

  1. Go to Settings → Users

  2. Click the interviewer’s name

  3. Select Edit scheduling preferences

  4. Change Max interviews per day to 0

  5. Save

✅ Guide will exclude them from scheduling until you update this setting again.

🔹 Option 2: Have Them Block Their Calendar

If the interviewer is actively using their calendar, they can create an all-day event marked as Busy to block availability (e.g., “OOO – Vacation”).

Guide respects Google and Outlook calendar availability, so these blocks will prevent scheduling.

📅 Can I Pause Someone Until a Specific Date?

Guide doesn’t yet support setting interviewer-specific blocked dates (like “pause until June 30”), but the two options above achieve the same result manually.

For future automation or return dates, you may want to add a reminder to update their profile when they return.
