Spread Across Days
This tells the scheduler how many calendar days to use when placing multiple interviews. When you check the box, you'll see three options:
Exact number of days - Interviews will be scheduled across precisely the number of days you specify (e.g., "Spread across 2 days").
Range of days - Interviews can be spread across a minimum and maximum range of days (e.g., between 2 and 4 days).
Flexible across any days - The scheduler can use any number of days from 1 up to the total number of interviews. Unlike the default behavior, this mode won't penalize multi-day scheduling options, so it's more likely to show spread-out options alongside same-day options.
When the checkbox is off, no day-spread constraint is set, and the scheduler defaults to preferring back-to-back (same-day) scheduling.
Limit Per Day
This controls how many interviews can land on a single day within the schedule. When you check the box, you'll see two options:
Exact number per day - Each day will have exactly that number of interviews (e.g., "Only 1 per day").
Minimum number per day - Each day will have at least that number of interviews, but may have more if needed to fit all interviews.
When the checkbox is off, no per-day cap is enforced.
Using both together
These two settings work in combination. For example, setting "Spread across 3 days" with "Only 1 per day" will produce options where 3 interviews are each placed on a different day. The scheduler will only surface time slot combinations that satisfy both constraints simultaneously.
Note: These are request-level settings for the scheduling algorithm and are separate from an interviewer's personal max interviews per day/week limits in their own Scheduling Preferences.
